Ground Breaking Day

The kiddos were thrilled that today was the day we would begin our "dream house."  We found four shovels, four hard-working kids, and put them to work!  What an exciting time for us!  After having such a rough year so far, this is definitely providing us a good distraction and most importantly, something wonderful to look forward to.  We're so excited to see how the next few weeks transpire and how our house will take shape in more than 2D.

Kristi, I started the Blog!!!

I had to start with that title so that I know who to thank when this is all said and done.  I'm looking forward to sharing all the exciting progress on our dream home with those of you who stumbled upon our blog!  We have been planning to build ever since we bought our land, back in September of 2005.  Kenedy was two and Hadyn was seven months old.  We've come a long way since then... and grew to a family of six... so I'm glad we waited until now.  We have brainstormed, discussed, dreamed, toured, browsed, searched, questioned and planned long enough!  We have never built a home before, but we are ready as we'll ever be!

And for the record, I have not been a faithful blogger on my family's website.  I had gotten so far behind and had experienced things far too painful to relive, so I just gave it up completely.  But as I'm typing this, I'm making a promise to my 50 year old self that I will catch up, in hopes that I will be laying in bed on a sleepless night in 2027 and read about how blessed our family was in 2012.
